Updated Production Plan 05/12

Progress

I have completed my 3d designs for my game, which I will have to put into the game soon, after making the level. The designs and idea is going well, I feel building the level and getting the physics correct will prove difficult. I will keep to schedule by making good progress in lesson and free periods.

Software Evaluation

I would use the software to create the character and assets for my game. I would use it to model the assets and characters in 3d to be put in my game.
I found it quite difficult to make the crate, however I feel it is the type of software that gets easy after using it multiple times.
I cannot think of a better software to input 3d images into games

Sold over 3 million copies altogether.

Unreal Engine

I found the Unreal engine was fairly easy to use when building simplistic things> the keys to copy and other features are also easy to use.

Games Analysis

The Game Assets
First Person Shooter
Very Detailed Scenery
Variety of Different Enemies
Guns and Lasers
Futuristic

Target Audience
16+ Due to violence
For people interested in shooters

The gameplay works because of the simplistic controls, making it very easy to play. The scenery is interesting and appealing to the player, so has the ability to enthrall the person playing the game. The graphics on the game are to a very high standard, as realism in movement usually appeals to the people interested in these types of games. It also works as there are a great number of enemies as well as constant traveling across the different levels. It engages the audience due to the great gameplay and on goings and creative backgrounds throughout the missions. From this game I can take its simplistic controls and the appealing scenery in the game.

LO2 Game Mechanics

The game will be set in an Indian Street, the task will be to acquire the tiffin as quickly as possible, whilst also picking up the petrol for bonus points. You must avoid the cows in the mission or face being sent back to the start, this can be done using skillful driving or utilising the ramps. The Tuk-Tuk will be very fast to increase the skill needed when navigating. You will start on the mission as just the Tuk-Tuk alone and be able to choose your character after you finish. The controls will be smooth so the realism of the game will be minimal so that it will be more fun for the player.

LO2 Character List

There will be 4 Playable Characters in the game

Xander Braynes
He is an ingenious game designer from England, who decided to fulfill his passion of Tuk-Tuk-ing after his racing game made him enough money to live out his life enjoying his hobby in India. His inspiration and passion came from a man who drives a Tuk-Tuk around his home town in England.

Raj Kapur
Raj used to be homeless, due to the destruction of his rice field in the monsoon. Until Xander Braynes gave him some money on a Tiffin run once to get some food, clothes and shelter for a few nights. After that day, he vowed to get back on his feet and make a name for himself in the glorious city of Mumbai by becoming the fastest Tiffin driver in the City.

Lala Gupta

Ganesha Gupta
Once the fastest Tuk-Tuk driver in all of Mumbai, Ganesha took a few years out to paint in Nepal, as his reputation meant he earned vast amounts of money. After returning, he realised his talents influenced a number of drivers who now closely compete for the title of the fastest Tuk-Tuk driver.

All the characters work for the same Tiffin company and all race against each other to be the fastest Tiffin delivery person in India.

LO1: Game Concept

The game I am planning to produce is a Racing game involving Tuk-Tuk's in India. There will be select game modes, including a story mode which will include the main level's from the game. In the story the missions are to deliver Tiffin to the people of Mumbai. Each stage will involve delivering a certain amount of Tiffin's to a number of people in an allotted time. The aim is to also not drive too erratically so as not to damage the Tiffin to a point of inedibility. The money you receive from story mode missions depends on the state of the Tiffin and the time taken to deliver it. There will also be challenge missions which involve wacky events like slalom driving between cows and drifting round corners in order to avoid a cow and make your deliveries as fast as possible. Challenges and completion of missions will give you money that you can use to spend on your Tuk-Tuk's performance. There will be 3 set difficulty modes; Easy, Medium and Hard. Easy will involve minimal traffic, and a sat nav to take you where you need to go. Medium will also include the sat nav, but will have much busier roads. Hard will have no sat nav, so you must use the mini map to navigate to the specific location, it will also include a large amount of traffic, as well as cows, which if you hit, will make you fail the mission.
