Contingency

I wanted to use a Tuk-Tuk from http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-tuk/364338 however the model costs $10 so I was unable to afford it.

LO3: Music For Game

I chose a song called cosmic wheel from Audionetwork which is royalty free. The song has a rock and indian genre so fits in with the theme of the game as well as the genre. This is because the rock is associated with driving songs/ games and the indian style comes from the country that the game is set in.

LO3: Interactive Props in Mudbox

These are 2 interactive props. The tin will mean you finish the level and the petrol gives you bonus points.

LO2 Control System

W/Up Arrow- Accelerate
A/Left Arrow- Turn Left
D/Right Arrow- Turn Right
Space Bar- Break

LO2 Illustrations of Assets and Characters

The Tuk Tuk will be the main playable character in the game as the 4 main characters will not move in the game as it will be the TukTuk. There will be little movement in the TukTuks body and chassis. However it will be able to accelerate and turn like a real one.
The Tiffin is a collectable which marks the end of the level. The petrol is also a Collectable which will give a bonus. The Cow is an object which is to be avoided, just like the crate.

LO2 Audience Needs

The game will need to be entertaining for it to be successful, so a good backstory is needed, which I feel I have sufficiently supplied. It will need to have challenges and tasks for the levels to be entertaining, so I have implemented an object you must pick up and another for a bonus, which should give the player something to aim for on more than one difficulty. You will be able to change characters and upgrade vehicles as the game goes on so the players will be rewarded for fast times and high scores. This will make them want to play the game more so they can unlock the best items on the game. The appeal for the game will also be heightened with the use of obstacles, like cows, as they will want to avoid them to stop a slow time. The ramps will be entertaining for the audience as they may want to add excitement by utilising them for jumping over obstacles.

LO2 Programming

For the programming of the game I will use Unreal Engine 4. With this I will be able to add all the assets I made in Mudbox and Maya. It will also allow me to apply my textures. It will be a good piece of software for making the environment as it is quite simple to use once you know the basics. It will also allow me to

LO2 Background and Environment Visuals

The visuals for the game will be quite simple and will try to reflect an Indian street. There will be derelict building textures applied on the walls and a cobblestone effect floor to try and capture the city it will be set in. In the environment there will be ramps to drive over, as well as cows which will be obstacles to avoid. There will also be 2 objects to pick up, petrol and the tiffin tin. There will be a number of dead ends and walls that create a tough scene to maneuver in.

Progress Review

So far I have produced all my assets.
I need to create my game in unreal using my assets
The simplicity of the designs is working well
It is difficult to create my main character
I have made no changes to the original plan so far
